How An Idea Turned Into Reality

The idea for an agricultural carbon credit company first struck Dhruv Sakore while he was working at Tata Sons, a company known for its corporate responsibility and sustainability. At that time, he was writing a research paper on green finance.
While scanning through the data on carbon emissions, climate change and the financial opportunities within sustainability, a thought struck Dhruv’s mind. Agriculture, one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions, also had massive untapped potential to sequester carbon.
Could farming be leveraged to fight climate change? With this vision, Dhruv thought about creating a company that could generate carbon credits through sustainable farming techniques. This would not only help reduce greenhouse gases, but also empower farmers to increase their yields and revenue, improve the soil and these efforts would help mitigate climate change.
When Dhruv shared the idea with friends and family, they were excited and saw the potential. However, the road ahead was anything but easy. The idea was still novel in India, and the infrastructure and knowledge needed to guide farmers toward sustainable practices were missing.
A conversation with his childhood friend, Vatsal Agarwal, truly set things into motion. Dhruv and Vatsal, a skilled entrepreneur with a passion for the environment, spent countless hours discussing the idea, debating how it could work, and sketched the vision for what eventually became Glaubark.
The friends knew they were on to something revolutionary. For nearly a year, Dhruv and Vatsal dived deep into research, met with experts in environmental science, green finance and agriculture, reached out to farmers and attended sustainability workshops. Slowly, they started to see how Glaubark could be a platform where farmers could adopt sustainable farming techniques—such as crop rotation, organic fertilization and water conservation—and generate carbon credits for trading in the global market.
There were hurdles in educating farmers, navigating regulations and ensuring that the carbon credits generated were legitimate and quantifiable. They developed partnerships with research institutions, tracked the progress of farmers and worked relentlessly to gain the trust of their partners.
Finally, after a year of preparations, Glaubark was launched with a clear message: Empowering farmers, enhancing sustainability and tackling the climate crisis.
The response has been overwhelming. In its first year, the company has tied up with non-government organizations that have over Thousands of farmers on their rolls. These farmers aren’t just adopting sustainable techniques, but are also receiving training, support and financial incentives for their contributions to carbon sequestration.
Dhruv and Vatsal have envisioned a world where sustainable farming isn’t the exception but the norm. They believe that through education, technology and innovation, agriculture can become a powerful ally in the fight against climate change. Both friends are confident that Glaubark will play a crucial role in the battle against climate change. The future looks green, and the world is watching.
